The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

Intelligent Geospatial Information Retrieval for Agricultural Experts-A Knowledge-Based Method
Increasing online geospatial data bring agriculture experts more available data resource and puzzles at the same time. One reason of puzzles comes from their lack of geoinformatic professional knowledge, by which people can understand and gather appropriate geospatial information for spatial analysis. The paper analyzes such knowledge insufficiency of agricultural experts and develops an intelligent method to help them 'understand' and search geospatial information. The method suggests a model termed geography area that exists in analyzers' mind; it outlines and models the interested geospatial information with 9 factors of 3 dimensions. The essential of the method is to supplement the insufficiency by adding geoinformatic professional knowledge and a spatial reasoner on the knowledge and geography area into spatial analysis. The reasoner can help agricultural experts "understand" geospatial data and calculates their relevance to a geography area for a given spatial analysis. Finally a proof-of-concept experiment is undertaken to valid the proposal method.
